NCAPD2P1 Genenon-SMC condensin I complex, subunit D2 pseudogene 1 |
LOC100421096 Genenon-SMC condensin I complex, subunit G pseudogene |
NCAPH2 Genenon-SMC condensin II complex, subunit H2 This gene encodes one of the non-SMC subunits of the condensin II complex. This complex plays an essential role in mitotic chromosome assembly. Alternate splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010] |
NCAPG2 Genenon-SMC condensin II complex, subunit G2 This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the Condensin2nSMC family of proteins. The encoded protein is a regulatory subunit of the condensin II complex which, along with the condensin I complex, plays a role in chromosome assembly and segregation during mitosis. A similar protein in mouse is required for early development of the embryo. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013] |
LOC100421471 Genenon-SMC element 4 homolog A (S. cerevisiae) pseudogene |
LOC100421148 Genenon-SMC condensin I complex, subunit G pseudogene |
NCAPH Genenon-SMC condensin I complex, subunit H This gene encodes a member of the barr gene family and a regulatory subunit of the condensin complex. This complex is required for the conversion of interphase chromatin into condensed chromosomes. The protein encoded by this gene is associated with mitotic chromosomes, except during the early phase of chromosome condensation. During interphase, the protein has a distinct punctate nucleolar localization. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different proteins have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013] |
NCAPG Genenon-SMC condensin I complex, subunit G This gene encodes a subunit of the condensin complex, which is responsible for the condensation and stabilization of chromosomes during mitosis and meiosis. Phosphorylation of the encoded protein activates the condensin complex. There are pseudogenes for this gene on chromosomes 8 and 15. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. NSMCE1 Genenon-SMC element 1 homolog (S. cerevisiae) Enables protein dimerization activity and ubiquitin protein ligase activity. Involved in DNA damage response. Located in nucleoplasm. Part of Smc5-Smc6 complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
NSMCE2 Genenon-SMC element 2, MMS21 homolog (S. cerevisiae) This gene encodes a member of a family of E3 small ubiquitin-related modifier (SUMO) ligases that mediates the attachment of a SUMO protein to proteins involved in nuclear transport, transcription, chromosome segregation and DNA repair. The encoded protein is part of the structural maintenance of chromosomes (SMC) 5/6 complex which plays a key role genome maintenance, facilitating chromosome segregation and suppressing mitotic recombination. A knockout of the orthologous mouse gene is lethal prior to embryonic day 10.5. Naturally occurring mutations in this gene, that abolish the SUMO ligase activity, are associated with primordial dwarfism and extreme insulin resistance. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017] |
NCAPD2 Genenon-SMC condensin I complex, subunit D2 Enables histone binding activity. Involved in mitotic chromosome condensation and positive regulation of chromosome condensation. Located in condensed chromosome; cytosol; and nuclear lumen. Part of condensin complex. Implicated in primary autosomal recessive microcephaly. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
NCAPD3 Genenon-SMC condensin II complex, subunit D3 Condensin complexes I and II play essential roles in mitotic chromosome assembly and segregation. Both condensins contain 2 invariant structural maintenance of chromosome (SMC) subunits, SMC2 (MIM 605576) and SMC4 (MIM 605575), but they contain different sets of non-SMC subunits. NCAPD3 is 1 of 3 non-SMC subunits that define condensin II (Ono et al., 2003 [PubMed 14532007]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008] |
NSMCE4A Genenon-SMC element 4 homolog A (S. cerevisiae) Involved in DNA damage response. Located in nuclear body. Part of Smc5-Smc6 complex. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
