LOC152845 Genepleiomorphic adenoma gene-like 2 pseudogene |
THADA Genethyroid adenoma associated This gene is the target of 2p21 choromosomal aberrations in benign thyroid adenomas. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in this gene may be associated with type 2 diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome. The encoded protein is likely involved in the death receptor pathway and apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016] |
PLAG1 Genepleiomorphic adenoma gene 1 Pleomorphic adenoma gene 1 encodes a zinc finger protein with 2 putative nuclear localization signals. PLAG1, which is developmentally regulated, has been shown to be consistently rearranged in pleomorphic adenomas of the salivary glands. PLAG1 is activated by the reciprocal chromosomal translocations involving 8q12 in a subset of salivary gland pleomorphic adenomas. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
PLAGL2 Genepleiomorphic adenoma gene-like 2 Pleiomorphic adenoma gene-like 2 is a zinc-finger protein that recognizes DNA and/or RNA. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
PLAGL1 Genepleiomorphic adenoma gene-like 1 This gene encodes a C2H2 zinc finger protein that functions as a suppressor of cell growth. This gene is often deleted or methylated and silenced in cancer cells. In addition, overexpression of this gene during fetal development is thought to be the causal factor for transient neonatal diabetes mellitus (TNDM). Alternative splicing and the use of alternative promoters results in multiple transcript variants encoding two different protein isoforms. The P1 downstream promoter of this gene is imprinted, with preferential expression from the paternal allele in many tissues. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2015] |
PTTG1IP Genepituitary tumor-transforming 1 interacting protein This gene encodes a single-pass type I integral membrane protein, which binds to pituitary tumor-transforming 1 protein (PTTG1), and facilitates translocation of PTTG1 into the nucleus. Coexpression of this protein and PTTG1 induces transcriptional activation of basic fibroblast growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013] |
PTTG4P Genepituitary tumor-transforming 4 pseudogene |
ADCYAP1 Geneadenylate cyclase activating polypeptide 1 (pituitary) This gene encodes a secreted proprotein that is further processed into multiple mature peptides. These peptides stimulate adenylate cyclase and increase cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels, resulting in the transcriptional activation of target genes. The products of this gene are key mediators of neuroendocrine stress responses. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2013] |
PTTG3P Genepituitary tumor-transforming 3, pseudogene Predicted to enable SH3 domain binding activity. Predicted to be involved in homologous chromosome segregation. Predicted to be located in cytoplasm. Predicted to be active in nucleus. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
ADCYAP1R1 Geneadenylate cyclase activating polypeptide 1 (pituitary) receptor type I This gene encodes type I adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide receptor, which is a membrane-associated protein and shares significant homology with members of the glucagon/secretin receptor family. This receptor mediates diverse biological actions of adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide 1 and is positively coupled to adenylate cyclase. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010] |
PTTG1 Genepituitary tumor-transforming 1 The encoded protein is a homolog of yeast securin proteins, which prevent separins from promoting sister chromatid separation. It is an anaphase-promoting complex (APC) substrate that associates with a separin until activation of the APC. The gene product has transforming activity in vitro and tumorigenic activity in vivo, and the gene is highly expressed in various tumors. The gene product contains 2 PXXP motifs, which are required for its transforming and tumorigenic activities, as well as for its stimulation of basic fibroblast growth factor expression. It also contains a destruction box (D box) that is required for its degradation by the APC. The acidic C-terminal region of the encoded protein can act as a transactivation domain. The gene product is mainly a cytosolic protein, although it partially localizes in the nucleus. Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. PTTG2 Genepituitary tumor-transforming 2 Predicted to enable SH3 domain binding activity. Predicted to be involved in homologous chromosome segregation. Predicted to be located in cytoplasm. Predicted to be active in nucleus. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Mar 2025] |
